Stellent, Inc. is a publicly traded company (STEL) that is a global provider of content management software. Stellent employs approximately 500 people and had revenue of over $106 million in fiscal year 2005. The Chicago based CCD division, which focuses on transformation technology lists companies such as Microsoft, Google, Yahoo, Sun and IBM among its customers.

During my eight years at Stellent I have repeatedly demonstrated my value and commitment to the company and have consistently been rewarded with promotion and increased responsibility.

Application Development Manager/QA Manager 8/2003 – 8/2006, Stellent/Inso, Chicago, IL
In addition to my role of Application Development Manager I assumed the role of QA Manager with 11 direct reports.
• Helped redefine the planning and processes of major software projects with a view to better meeting deadlines and increased repeatability.
• Expanded the understanding of ‘quality’ in the organization to be part of the overall engineering process. Better requirements planning and documentation, better definition of defects planned to be addressed in a release, earlier controlled check-in and increased code-inspection.
• Responsible for managing the testing, qualification and approval of all software delivered to Stellent CCD customers, staffing levels including hiring and firing, project estimates, forward planning, testing practices and methodology.
• Consolidated 2 prior QA management roles.
• Redefined staffing allocation methodology to create greater flexibility and wider product understanding.
• Focus on increased test automation to help QA Leads spend more time planning and less time running manual tests.
• Hired multiple employees of various seniority and skill sets into both the Application Development and QA teams.
• Report to Director of Engineering.

Application Development Manager 9/1999 – 8/2003, Stellent/Inso, Chicago, IL
• Responsible for managing divisional information infrastructure and application development/integration including requirements gathering. Manage a team of direct reports to develop and maintain systems. The goal is to provide total data availability to employees and customers as effectively and seamlessly as possible by integrating related data sources and presenting information in a clear and concise manner.
• Intranet/extranet development using n-tier architecture:
- UI: HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, ASP, ASP.NET
- Business Logic: VB COM, VB.NET, WebDAV, XML
- Data: SQL Server 2000 database and stored procedures.

• Built department from scratch, hiring 4 team members of various skill sets and experience.
• Played an active role in mentoring and training junior members of team.
• Identify and prioritize projects on a technical, resource and political basis.
• Introduced coding standards and best practices.

Examples of web applications built include:
• Extranet support site: Customers and prospects can use this to keep track of issues, directly integrates with CRM system. Radically reduced the load on Tech. Support by improving tracking and accountability for issues. Enables sales reps to immediately give prospects the ability to download products
• Engineering Process Architecture: System to track and manage entire software life cycle. Captures all engineering artifacts (Products, projects, requirements, builds, tests, deliverables, patches etc.) and applies various business rules and processes in a single all encompassing system.
• WebDelivery: A web based customer delivery system used for delivery and revenue recognition. Fully administered by Sales and Finance departments via web interface. System builds unique deliverables for each customer including a unique stamp and exclusion of unlicensed features.
• Royalty Reporting: Web based mechanism for customers to report royalties to the finance department.

Sales Engineer 9/1997 – 9/1999, Stellent/Inso, Chicago, IL
Pioneered the Sales Engineer role for Inso on web development tool product
• Involved with product direction on a daily basis from the engineering and product management standpoints.
• Assisted sales staff with demos and general understanding of the product.
• Worked extensively with prospects including on-site visits and tradeshows.
• Created demos to be distributed with the product.
• Gave internal and external training.
• Included regular domestic and international travel.
